DC Public Library's Go-Go Archive invites you to the FREE showcase concert of the inaugural season of Making of the Go-Go Band on Sunday, Sept. 10 from 1 - 5 p.m.! All summer long, members of D.C.'s Go-Go community have come together to grow as musicians. The class included the existing bands, LIT Band and RCA Band and a brand new group formed as a part of Making of the Go-Go Band!
At this showcase hosted by DJ Rico with beats by DJ Big John, you will get to hear each band perform. They will be judged by some of the icons of Go-Go who have been working with the bands throughout the summer, including Backyard Band's Paul Buggy Edwards (drummer) and Marcus Johnson (keyboard). The winning band will receive a $5,000 stipend and the opportunity to open at Art All Night.
After the showcase, the afternoon's headliner, Backyard Band will come on to bring the house down in celebration of an incredible summer of Go-Go at DC Public Library!
