Celebrate the living history of D.C.’s official music, Go-Go, with DC Public Library! This music-turned-movement is such a special part of D.C. culture and this week, we’re recognizing the ways in which it is so much more than a nostalgic music genre. Curious about the ways it’s impacted the history of the city? Visit the Go-Go Archive, located on the 4th floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, to explore the stories and memorabilia of both leaders within Go-Go and DMV residents.
Did you grow up alongside the Go-Go movement or are you someone who now loves the richness of Go-Go music? Consider donating to the collection as a part of our preservation efforts! The Archive accepts materials such as:
- flyers and posters
- photographs
- concert-ticket stubs
- videos or DVDs
