Join DC Public Library for a special event with NBC News Meet the Press Moderator Chuck Todd in conversation with Antonia Hylton and Mike Hixenbaugh, hosts of the hit NBC News podcast Southlake, and Tiffany Alston, Director of Public Services at DC Public Library about the current fight over which books students should be allowed to read.
As the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library celebrates the 50th anniversary of the central library in downtown Washington D.C., we are thrilled to welcome the reporting team behind the award-winning NBC News podcast Southlake, which examines a school district in Texas, amid the growing attacks on critical race theory.

Celebrate RevelArte with the Hirshhorn Museum! In Spanish, “revelarte” means “to reveal.” Join the Hirshhorn and DC Public Library for a revelatory exploration of Latino/a art and artists.
We kick off our journey with "Map Your Neighborhood" with local artist Carlos Carmonamedina. Carlos will be hosting this free art workshop for kids and families of all ages at the Mt. Pleasant Library on Saturday, Apr. 2 at 11 a.m. Carlos' work as an artist captures the feeling of the places he has lived. During the workshop, he will lead families in making maps that are expressive of their neighborhoods.
The Hirshhorn is excited to bring RevelArte programs to D.C. residents all spring long, stay tuned for future events!
