The Weld County Tobacco Education and Prevention Program (WCTEPP) is offering free training opportunities and professional incentives to support tobacco cessation efforts in our community. Whether you work with youth, adults, or are a professional healthcare worker, you can earn a $200 gift card from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) for your participation! WCTEPP is conducting interviews to learn more about cessation conversations within healthcare settings and is offering a $200 gift card to healthcare professionals who participate in a one-hour phone interview about discussing tobacco cessation with patients.
🔹 Who Can Participate?
- Physicians (MD, DO)
- Nurse Practitioners (PA, NP)
- Registered Nurses (RN, LPN)
- Medical Assistants (MA)
🔹 What’s Involved?

One-hour virtual interview (no prep or surveys required).
- Share insights on how tobacco cessation is discussed in medical settings.
- Help shape future support and resources for patient cessation efforts.

WCTEPP is also sponsoring free tobacco cessation trainings for youth serving organizations or individuals interested in hosting group or one-on-one cessation classes. Participants will receive free training plus a $200 gift card upon completion.
Training Opportunities:
🟢 NOT-On-Tobacco (N-O-T)
- Self-paced, virtual training through the American Lung Association.
- Designed for school employees and those working with youth ages 13-19.
- Learn to facilitate 10 group sessions to encourage voluntary cessation of tobacco, e-cigarettes, or nicotine pouches.
- Includes certification and training on INDEPTH, an alternative-to-suspension program for students.
🟢 Dimensions Tobacco Cessation Training
- Live virtual training: March 12-13, 2025 (1.5 days).
- Designed for youth and adult serving organizations
- Teaches participants how to coach people who use tobacco to quit.
🟢 Freedom from Smoking
- Virtual, self-paced training to become a certified facilitator for adults.
- Learn to lead an eight-session program on effective quit strategies and post-cessation support.
