Children's Festival To Be Held April 10
We know the past year has not been an easy one for anyone. In our day-to-day life, sometimes families forget that the true source of learning is one-on-one interaction with their children…and that means playing together! That is why despite the challenges we will still be hosting the Northern Colorado Children’s festival. Considering the currently COVID climate, we are happy to announce we are going to do a Drive-Thru Event on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Island Grove Park.
This year, our goal is to get experiences into children's and parent’s hands, so they can participate in activities at home that will help develop a wide variety of skills.
If for no other reason, you should bring your child to the Children’s Festival to get a free book. After all, the key to success for children is literacy, and it starts with reading to your child every single day, from the day they are born. Studies have proven that the first three years of life are the most critical for brain growth, and reading stimulates that growth. In fact, 90% of brain growth occurs by age three!
Your child will enjoy more than just a free book at the festival. Local businesses that serve children will provide free resources, educational materials, entertainment and take-n-make fun for infants through elementary school children throughout the day.
Bring your own children, bring your nieces and nephews, and bring the children you watch, or bring your grandchildren to enjoy this special day.
The annual Holocaust Memorial Observances of Greeley & Northern Colorado event is a special occasion to remember the Voices from the Holocaust. This year, the week-long commemoration will be held virtually. There will be screenings of two movies: The Samuel Project and 1945 (2017), plus a book discussion of Survival in Auschwitz by Primo Levi and other educational programs.
Also, you are invited to join a virtual Interfaith Memorial Observance on Sunday, April 18, at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Rabbi Sarah Gilbert, Rev. Rick Mawson, and Rev. John Bliss. The keynote address from a survivor on Wednesday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m. is an increasingly rare opportunity you won’t want to miss. Plans are still being finalized; visit their Schedule page for updated information and Zoom links.
