Welcome to
2017! If you follow us on Facebook, you saw our New Year's Day post encouraging
you to Go Have an Adventure. For some, that adventure may take them to other
states or even countries, but please don't forget about the adventures you can
have right here in Weld County. That's right - there is adventure to be found
in your own backyard! Practice your wizard skills at the Harry Potter literacy
event at the Colorado Model Railroad Museum, visit the sands of Arabia via the
Missoula Children's Theatre production of Aladdin, or view works of art made
from repurposed materials in Windsor. Looking to better yourself? Learn about
new trends in journaling in Eaton and healthy grocery shopping in Erie. The
point is, even though it is cold outside there are lots of great adventures to

Exhibition final week at the Greeley History Museum, 714 8th Ave. Schulz, who
created the Peanuts comic strip for nearly 50 years, was immensely curious, an
avid reader, and took a keen interest in the latest research findings in a variety
of fields. The Peanuts… Naturally exhibit takes a light-hearted look at artist
Charles Schulz’s exploration of the natural world through his Peanuts comic
strips, videos, objects, and interactive stations. Visitors get a Peanuts-eye

expansion was driven, in large part, by railroad travel that could take
visitors from coast to coast quickly and conveniently. Along with that
expansion came demand for Southwest Native American pieces used not for
ceremony or for cooking, but strictly for trade. “Made for the Tourist Trade”
is a collaboration between the University of Northern Colorado’s
Anthropology Department and City of Greeley Museums staff which showcases
pieces originally housed in a university museum that closed in the 1980s. This
exhibit showcases the history of that museum and nearly 20 pieces from

d’Elgin, great granddaughter of Benjamin Harrison Eaton, is the author of The
Man Who Thought He Owned Water: On the Brink with American Farms, Cities and
Food. At the Historic Preservation program’s January 26 History Brown Bag
presentation, Tershia will read from her book and lead a discussion about
“rising to the occasion” — be the occasion Greeley’s seminal beginnings on the
prairie or the massive well curtailment of 2006 that shutdown 3,000 groundwater
wells on 100,000 acres, greatly impacting the economy and environmental
conditions in Northeastern Colorado. Among the
presentation topics will be “unintended consequences,” “carrying capacity,” and
“personal responsibility.” History
Brown Bags are free afternoon events that aim to provide cultural and
historical context to topics related to Historic Preservation in and around

proceeds of Habajeeba! go to 28 Hours of Hope, The Good Morning Guy’s
fundraiser to benefit three area non-profit organizations to prevent child
abuse in Northern Colorado. This year’s show features new country artists:
