Sharpen your strategy and put your skills to the test. Players of all ages and abilities are invited to take part in this day of competition, learning, and camaraderie! Whether you’re an experienced player or just beginning to explore the game, you’ll have the chance to play multiple matches, meet fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy the challenge of thinking several moves ahead. Prizes will be awarded to top players. Come see if you have what it takes to outwit the competition!

SCARECROW BUILDING CONTEST
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19 | 12-5 P.M.
Join us for an all ages scarecrow building event! Drop by anytime between 12 and 5 p.m. and stay as long or as little as you'd like! Bring your family and friends, or come solo to create your own unique scarecrow with materials provided by the library. While you create your masterpiece, enjoy Halloween movies and snacks. Your finished scarecrow will help decorate our space, and library patrons will vote for their favorites. The grand prize winner will be announced on October 31st. No need to be present to win!

Chef Kat Rainey is here to help! In this workshop, she’ll break down the basics of ingredient substitutions, explain how different flours and binders work, and give you her best tips for success.
Participants will enjoy samples of Chef Kat’s delicious creations and receive recipes to take home, making this a perfect introduction to gluten-free baking without the guesswork.

MAH JONGG TOURNAMENT

Join Vail Mah Jongg and Vail Public Library for a festive fall Mah Jongg tournament and costume contest! Don your favorite Halloween look and enjoy a friendly competition where you may just win a prize!
