The library has coupons for one additional hour of free parking in the Lionshead and Vail Village parking structures. This allows for up to 2 hours of parking free. Ask at the front desk!
SUMMER READING FOR ALL AGES
JOIN US AS WE COLOR OUR WORLD THIS SUMMER
Register at the front desk to participate in our summer reading challenge for children, teens, and adults. Each reading challenge offers an opportunity to win fun prizes!

Children's Summer Reading Challenge
Register and receive your bag, reading log, and "Read and Bead" chain. Mark your reading log with stickers for every 15 minutes of reading. Bring your logs back to exchange reading minutes for beads! Complete your reading log by July 31 to be entered into the drawing for prizes!
Teen & Adult Summer Reading Challenge
Register and receive your bag, bingo card, and raffle ticket to win gift cards to local businesses. Complete 5 challenges in a row and receive 2 raffle tickets for our grand prize drawing! Complete the entire bingo board and receive 2 more tickets for the grand prize drawing! All completed bingo boards must be turned in by July 31 to be entered in the raffle drawings. Check out the grand prizes!

Nature’s Educators, Colorado’s traveling wildlife program, will be here with animals to show us how they hide their colors in nature!

ONLINE SPEAKER SERIES: Raúl The Third (PK-2nd Grade)
TUESDAY, JULY 8

This event will be online and 30 minutes in length.
Join author and illustrator Raúl The Third as he discusses his book ¡Vamos! Let’s Go Read!.
Raúl the Third uses his culture and his experience growing up on the US and Mexico border to inspire his art and his storytelling. Students will be encouraged to explore their world through a creative lens. A draw along is planned, drawing supplies and paper are recommended.
There will be two sessions on this date, one in Spanish and one English.

DRUM SAFARI

Join us for a musical “safari” during this high-energy, interactive performance. Each child can try out instruments and join the jungle jam!

BRAVO! LITTLE LISTENERS @ THE LIBRARY

Bravo! Vail seeks to cultivate and inspire the musician inside every child. Little Listeners @ the Library, presented by Alpine Bank, introduces music and instruments in an approachable, accessible way. Kids can learn and interact with the Festival musicians, participating in games to capture a few musical insights along the way.
This is a free event, but registration is required.

Join us for a visit to our StoryWalk® at Bighorn Park ! Enjoy the book and activities to accompany it! Meet us at the Vail Public Library at 3:30 to ride a chartered bus with us (returning by 5:00) or meet us at Bighorn Park at 3:45 (wrapping up at 4:45).

GRAND FINALE : FOAM PARTY!
TUESDAY, JULY 29 | 3:30 P.M.
We’re having a Foam Party! Join us on our back lawn for a foamtastic time. Play and dance in a giant pile of cool, clean, foam. The foam master will spray attendees with endless bubbles from a foam machine. Fun for the whole family! This is a water activity, so please bring a towel, swimsuit, and a change of clothes.
Goggles are recommended.

COLLAGE ART WITH MICHAEL ALBERT

Looking for a unique, colorful way to get creative this summer?
Pop Artist Michael Albert is bringing his famous Cereal Box Collage Workshop to Vail Public Library!
Join us at the library for a hands-on collage workshop where participants will have a chance to create and take home their own masterpieces using Albert’s materials of choice, recycled cereal boxes & other colorful cardboard packages including cookie boxes, cracker boxes, soda cartons & more.
All participants will receive a free signed poster of one of Albert’s creations as a special gift for joining him in this creative art making session!
You don’t need to reserve your spot, but it is always great to know you’re coming!
