2021 Code Adoption
On May 17, 2022, the Vail Town Council approved the adoption of the 2021 editions of the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Fire Code, International Energy Conservation Code, International Plumbing Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Mechanical Code, International Existing Building Code, and the 2020 Edition of the National Electrical Code, with amendments; and Adopted the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, with amendments. These codes will be applicable to all permits submitted to the Town on or after July 5, 2022.
To prepare our customers, the Building Division will be offering two training sessions for code users. Both sessions will cover significant changes to the code and also provide details regarding new Town of Vail amendments to the code. Training space is limited to 40 for each session, so register now to attend one of the available training sessions by emailing CJ Jarecki, Building Official, at cjarecki@vailgov.com.
- Session 1 - Thursday, June 2, 8:00 am - Noon
- Session 2 - Tuesday, June 21, 8:00 am - Noon
Both sessions will be held in the Grand View room on the top level of the Lionshead Parking Structure. Continental breakfast will be provided.
