2021 ICC Code Adoption
The 2021 editions of the International Codes have been published and Town Council will be hearing the adoption ordinance for the code updates and amendments during both Council sessions on May 3. Adoption of the 2021 codes is being proposed for July 5, 2022, effective date. Prior to adoption, there will be code training available for the building community – Thursday, June 2 and Tuesday, June 21. Stay tuned for further details. Construction Site Parking
Zero Tolerance Policy.
The Vail Police Department and its Code Enforcement Division have adopted a zero-tolerance policy for any parking violations at construction sites. Construction site vehicles parked in the Town's right-of-way without a permit or outside the scope of their permit will be ticketed and/or towed. Contractors are urged to ensure full compliance with all Town parking rules and requirements.

Encroachment Agreements Required
As a reminder, Eagle River Water and Sanitation District requires an encroachment agreement for construction, landscaping, or any improvements within a general utility or dedicated water and/or sewer easement in Vail. This agreement is required for a final Design Review Board approval, therefore it is recommended that applicants include all necessary agreements with their DRB submittal. Please review a survey of the property for these easements, which are often located along shared property lines.

Waterbody Setback Modifications
The Town is currently in the process of updating the setback from Gore Creek and its tributaries. Currently the setback is 50' from the centerline of Gore Creek and 30' from the centerline of the named tributaries. The update would reduce the setback to 25' and measure from the Two-Year Floodline instead of the centerline. The second reading of the ordinance to incorporate this change into Town Code will go before Town Council on Tuesday May 17th.
