Join Boulder Film Friends in Superior (BFFs) on Feb. 27 for the second event in new film series
With the Sundance Film Festival set to arrive in Boulder in 2027, the Town of Superior’s Cultural Arts & Public Spaces (CAPS) Advisory Committee recently launched a free monthly independent film series inspired by the festival’s spirit.
Boulder Film Friends in Superior will showcase independent films that have screened at prominent festivals, including Sundance, Cannes, the Toronto International Film Festival and more, creating opportunities for the community to gather and enjoy acclaimed cinema.
You're invited to join us on Feb. 27 for the second event in this new film series featuring "Porcelain War," a film by Brendan Bellomo and Slava Leontyev.

Prepare for snow removal season ahead of any weather events
It's been a warm winter so far, but it's still smart to be prepared for snow removal season.
Superior's Municipal Code 11-1-20 requires homeowners to remove any snow, sleet, or ice obstructing the sidewalk within 24 hours of the end of each snowfall. If you are able to get out before then, especially when school is in session, our students would appreciate it very much!

As a dog owner, there is nothing more joyful than watching your dog run and explore the natural world.
However, dog ownership comes with responsibility, too. Leashing and picking up after your furry friends helps keep our beautiful parks and open spaces healthy and safe for all.
Leashing your dog protects people, pets, and wildlife!
Superior's leash ordinance requires you to keep your pup leashed (unless you're visiting a designated off-leash area), but doing so is also the kind and neighborly thing to do!
Off-leash dogs risk bringing home an unwelcome mange infestation, disrupting wildlife, or causing anxiety for other people or pets.

A clean community starts with you!
Aside from being a stinky nuisance, dog poop contains bacteria and parasites that can pose health hazards to humans, wildlife, and other dogs!
When left on the ground and not disposed of properly, dog feces can introduce harmful bacteria and nutrients into local waters.

Bring bags along and pack extra in case you run out or need to help a neighbor who forgot theirs.
- Make sure those bags end up in a trash can at the end of your walk! There are courtesy bags and trash cans located throughout the Town.

The bottom line? Leashing your dog and picking up after them keeps them safe, protects our local wildlife, and ensures open spaces remain a joy for everyone.
Don't forget! There are two dog parks in Town where your dog can enjoy off-leash fun: Autrey Park Dog Park (1830 Honey Creek Drive) and Central Park Dog Park (2560 Central Park Way). The Town recently made exciting improvements at Autrey Park! You can learn all about the project on the Town website.

Three historical sites open to the public in March
History isn't just for the books; it's part of our community!
Volunteers from the Historical Commission will have three historical sites open on Saturday, March 7, for residents interested in learning more about Superior's past.
Superior Historical Cemetery
2580 Central Park Way
Open 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (weather permitting)
The cemetery, established in 1873, features interpretive signs, benches, and a trail system. Approximately 90 former residents are interred there, including two Civil War veterans.

Asti Park Historical Museum
110 W. Maple Street
Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Learn about the community's mining heritage, life in the mine camp houses, and experience a small area dedicated to Marshall Fire objects and photographs.

Applications now open for summer jobs with Boulder County Youth Corps
The Youth Corps provides opportunities for Boulder County teens to develop a sense of community involvement through personal accomplishment, teamwork, and service to the county.
Since 1996, participants, aged 14-17, have been completing projects for Boulder County departments, municipalities, and towns

Congratulations to Jane from Superior for winning first place in the ninth to twelfth grade division of the 2025 Boulder St. Vrain Watershed Art Contest!

Superior Youth Leadership Council hosts STEM-A-Thon fun on March 7
Join the Superior Youth Leadership Council from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 7 at the Superior Community Center for an afternoon of hands-on discovery at STEM-A-Thon, a free event designed for young innovators ages 6 to 12!
Kids will explore the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics through interactive activities led by local high school groups.
Parents are not required to participate but must remain in the building. Enrolled participants receive priority. Drop-ins are welcome; however, space is limited! Register now to secure your spot.
