We’re fully into fall now and there’s still some great events happening as we close in on the holiday season. The holidays tend to be the time of year that the most waste is generated, so now is a great time to join us for an event focused on waste reduction and keeping items out of the landfill, from our new Eco-Leader program to the free leaf bag giveaway to help compost your leaves!
As always, thanks for being a part of making Superior a sustainable, resilient, and vibrant community.

Don’t let your Halloween pumpkins go to waste
As Halloween wraps up, consider giving your old pumpkins a new purpose! Composting is a fantastic way to prevent hundreds of pumpkins from ending up in Colorado's landfills. Every scrap matters-composting helps preserve our natural areas and turns old produce into a valuable soil amendment.
If you receive composting service at home through the Town’s waste service, toss it in your compost bin; otherwise, head over to the CHaRM facility (6400 Arapahoe Road in Boulder). Another option is to check with local farms—many are eager to feed your old pumpkins to their livestock!
Just remember, if your pumpkins are coated with any chemicals or painted, it's best to throw them in the trash.
