Hey 45+ community: You're invited to Monte Carlo Night at the Superior Community Center!
Feeling lucky?
Join us for friendly competition, games, and fun on Friday, June 20 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Superior Community Center (1500 Coalton Road) during Superior's first-ever Monte Carlo Night for active adults!
The event is free to attend, but early registration is required. Please register by June 17. Monte Carlo Night is for those ages 45 and up; please no minors. Black tie attire is encouraged but not required. Dress to the nines in your most elegant apparel!
Try your hand at blackjack, poker, roulette, and even James Bond's favorite — baccarat — as you play to win great local prizes! Plus, don't miss your chance to go head-to-head with members of the Superior Town Council in a friendly competition.
No experience? No problem! Professional dealers will be on hand to teach you the ropes or help seasoned players sharpen their strategies. Those who don't play are welcome, too! Enjoy a great DJ, room to dance, and opportunities to socialize with your neighbors and win prizes.
Serendipity Tap and Café will be open with food and beverages for purchase.

Locations: All June and July concerts will be at Superior Commons Amphitheater (2130 Creek View Way). The August concerts will move to the Downtown Superior Plaza (2250 Main St.).
Food & Beverages: Food trucks will be on site selling tasty bites. Beer, wine, and seltzers will be available for attendees ages 21 and older. Please note that bringing and consuming outside alcohol is prohibited.
Parking: Parking at the amphitheater is limited; please plan to bike, walk, or carpool. Additional parking is available at the Downtown Superior parking structures. Visit the Downtown Superior Parking webpage for a map of available parking in the area as well as restrictions. Accessible parking will be available on the west end of the main parking lot, indicated by temporary signs.
Green Team Volunteers Needed: The Town of Superior is looking to partner with businesses, local community-based groups, and individuals to help support our zero-waste community events and other sustainability efforts. Learn more and sign up.
Get the most out of your summer with the local midweek Superior Summer Market on June 18
We're bringing novelty goods and local entertainment conveniently to you in Downtown Superior during the Superior Summer Market!
Head downtown on June 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. for merchants, meals, and Americana and bluegrass music from Ms. Amy and the Jet Set.
There will be dozens of local vendors at each event, selling everything from natural meats, local honey, breads (GF and sourdough), mushrooms, pre-made meals, novelty and self-care products, plants, flowers and more.

Stop by the Civic Space grand opening celebration!
The June 18 Superior Summer Market will also serve as the grand opening celebration for the brand new Civic Space!
During the event, you can visit the Civic Space for a ribbon cutting and celebratory speeches, and stop by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee's community engagement booth to provide input on the Community Park playground renovation project.
Plus, enjoy a magic show and balloon artist, art activities, a children's play space, and so much more!

CAPS Stained Glass Suncatcher Workshop Saturday, June 21 | 1 to 5 p.m. Superior Community Center (1500 Coalton Road)
Discover the art of Tiffany-style stained glass and join the Cultural Arts & Public Spaces (CAPS) Advisory Committee for this free hands-on workshop.
Learn the timeless beauty of Tiffany’s copper foil technique while creating your own vibrant leaf-shaped suncatcher. Explore the history of stained glass, practice soldering, and leave with a stunning piece of art you made yourself.
Each participant will receive a free, pre-cut kit with all the supplies needed to complete their suncatcher. Spaces are limited — don’t miss this creative opportunity!

Superior Pairings: Drawing Never Dies Tuesday, June 24 | 6:30 p.m. Superior Community Center (1500 Coalton Road)
Join CAPS for an intriguing conversation between two art industry life partners and learn of their passion for drawing and building community. Artists and curators Donald Fodness and Daisy Fodness-McGowan will discuss how they launched their Drawing Never Dies project in 2016 as an expansive exhibition and how it defined drawing as a primal artistic act with a multitude of variables.
Nearly 10 years later, Drawing Never Dies has evolved into an artist residency program that is situated in a treehouse and as a publication, celebrates drawing as the most essential act of visual communication. Learn about the artist and curator duo and how this expansive and inclusive residency fosters creative exploration, connection, and personal growth through a celebration of visual art's most fundamental act: drawing.

Celebrate the 4th of July with a patriotic parade through Town
Experience a day of family-friendly fun and patriotic spirit during Superior's annual 4th of July Celebration!
Before the Pancake Festival and Community Center BBQ, the day gets started with the Superior Mile - downhill race and a longstanding community favorite — the 4th of July Parade.
The red, white, and blue procession, led by the Monarch High School Marching Band, begins at 8:30 a.m. and returns to the traditional route down Rock Creek Parkway. Parade line-up will be on Rock Creek Parkway from South Pitkin Avenue to South Indiana Street.
The community can vote for their favorite entries using QR codes posted along the route and at the Pancake Festival. There will be prizes for the first, second and third place winners of the community vote!

Reminder from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office: Fireworks that explode or leave the ground are illegal in the Town of Superior. This limits the legal fireworks to sparklers, fountains, and similar devices. Let's work together to keep our community safe this 4th of July! Thank you.
Upcoming Open Space programs provide a chance to get outside
Nature at Night - Coyotes June 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. Community Park (1350 Coalton Road)
Learn about the role and ecology of our community's coyotes, while talking and walking with local wildlife ecologist Ashley DeLaup. Through this exciting program, you will develop an understanding and appreciation of native wildlife and gain an awareness about what it means to share a habitat with coyotes. Please wear appropriate clothes and shoes and bring snacks and water as needed.

Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop June 17 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Purple Park (1310 S. Pitkin Ave.)
This Leave No Trace Awareness workshop is an introductory course to help educate you on the Leave No Trace principles! In this workshop, participants will learn about the seven core principles that strive to have us be stewards of the wilderness.

Can't tell a yellow-breasted Noddlehatch from a White-winged Snowbird? Naturalist Dave Sutherland is here to help! Enjoy this fun introduction to the world of birds - how to spot and identify them. Bring binoculars and bird guides if you have them.

Hunter Education Internet Conclusion Course June 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Superior Community Center (1500 Coalton Road)
Join Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) to receive your Hunter Education Certification! This course will be five hours of class time followed by a written test and live fire test at a local shooting range. Participants will learn how to safely, legally, and ethically hunt in Colorado and will be able to interact with multiple Wildlife Officers during the course. Prior to the course, participants must complete the online Hunters Safety Course. Information on this is provided after registration. Firearms and equipment for the June course are provided by CPW. No personal firearms allowed.

Wildflower Walk June 29 from 9 to 11 a.m. Coalton Trailhead (3495 McCaslin Blvd.)
Take a walk on the wild(flower) side! Join naturalist and ecologist Jeff Mitton and the Open Space Advisory Committee for this exciting event. Mitton, the former chair of ecology and evolutionary biology at CU Boulder, will share identification and the natural history of wildflowers found along the Meadowlark Trail. Participants should bring water and wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing for this 2-mile out-and-back walk.

Star Party with Standley Lake Stargazing July 15 from 9 to 10:30 p.m. Coalton Trailhead (3495 McCaslin Blvd.)
Witness star clusters, galaxies, nebulas, the moon, and planets during this magical stargazing party hosted by Standley Lake Stargazing! This family-friendly interactive program is suitable for a general audience without any prior experience. Please dress appropriately for evening weather.

Oerman-Roche Trailhead parking area closed until July 18 due to roadway construction
Please be advised that the Oerman-Roche Trailhead, located at 414 McCaslin Blvd., will be closed to vehicle traffic until July 18, due to roadway construction at the intersection of Rock Creek Parkway and McCaslin Boulevard. The trail will remain open, but the parking area will be closed.
The project includes roadway reconstruction at the intersection of Rock Creek Parkway and McCaslin Boulevard. The construction will improve the roadway surface, correct drainage issues in the area, and bring the existing islands into compliance with ADA standards.
Construction will run through late August and includes detours on McCaslin Boulevard and Rock Creek Parkway, with one lane of traffic open in each direction.

The goats are back for summer grazing in Superior!
You "herd" it here first! Goat Bros, Hoof-Action Grazing will again provide grazing services in Superior beginning in July.
This will be the third year that Goat Bros has provided goat grazing services for the Town with their herd of 300 goats. The herd will wrap up work in Superior this fall after 100 days of grazing.
Interested in meeting our beloved team of grazers? Public engagement events will be offered to provide the community with an opportunity to meet the goats and learn more about their role in wildfire mitigation.

Summer is here! Come hang out at the Superior Community Center
The Superior Community Center is the perfect place to meet up with friends or make some new ones this summer!
Pre-teens and teens are welcome to hang out at the SCC as long as they have a Youth Access Card.
You can register for a Youth Access Card online or stop by the front desk at the community center. Ages 11 and up are allowed in the facility without adult supervision.
Additionally, the Town has coordinated dozens of half-day youth camps to keep your kiddos engaged all summer long! Check out the lineup and register today.
