Historical Museum to be closed in December in preparation for newly rebuilt museum
The Historical Commission is working hard to furnish and program the newly rebuilt Historical Museum in Asti Park. A professional moving crew recently moved many heavy, difficult to manage artifacts from the bungalow at Grasso Park (our interim museum space) to the Asti Museum.
Since there is a need for the Commission to complete this job and ready the building for visitors, the museum will be closed in December to continue this important work.

Silencio sculpture on Rock Creek Parkway is Superior's latest public art piece
Have you seen the sculpture in the median on Rock Creek Parkway and wondered what it is?
Say hello to Silencio, the large 8-foot yule marble sculpture by artist Mike Clapper. (Yule marble is Colorado's official state rock!)
Located in the median between South Indiana Street and South Pitkin Avenue, the placement of the on-loan sculpture is part of the Cultural Arts and Public Spaces (CAPS) advisory committee's vision to bolster the Town's public art collection.
Clapper and his studio crew, along with Town staff, led the installation on Oct. 25 to erect the hefty piece.
A videographer was on site to capture the process of installing a large piece of art. Silencio's elegance certainly adds to the completion of Rock Creek Parkway's road and median upgrades. Check out the video on the Town's YouTube page.
