Superior teams up with Colorado CarShare to launch brand-new EV carshare location
As part of our commitment to promoting sustainable transportation, the Town of Superior has partnered with Colorado CarShare to provide a shared electric vehicle (EV) located in the Downtown Superior Parking Garage. The program aligns with the Town’s goals to lower emissions and offers equitable access to a new mobility option in the community.
For a limited time, residents can use promo code SUPER_EV to waive the $25 application fee. The first 50 people will also receive $25 of carshare credit preloaded to their account.
The not-for-profit organization Colorado CarShare currently has over 60 shared vehicles along the Front Range and will operate the EV for the program. Anyone who signs up for a CarShare membership can drive any vehicle in the fleet.
To use the vehicles, the first step is to apply to become a member by signing up at CarShare.org. After becoming a member, you can reserve the vehicles up to 4 months in advance. Vehicle reservations can be made for as little as 15 minutes or up to multiple days. Then, simply get your vehicle at the time you reserved. Return it to the same location where you picked it up when you are done.

Girl Scouts partner with ACES to collect autumn leaves for composting
In partnership with the Town of Superior's Advisory Committee for Environmental Sustainability (ACES), the Girl Scouts of Superior teen GECCCO troop want to help promote the composting of autumn leaves by handling your leaf disposal!
Residents who sign up can collect their leaves into 30-gallon leaf bags and place the full bags curbside by 8 a.m. on Nov. 3 with a suggested donation of $10 to 20 that will go directly to the Girl Scout troop.
Volunteer Girl Scouts and parents will collect the bags and deliver them to the Town of Superior Yard Waste Site.
Need leaf bags? Residents can pick up two free leaf bags at the Superior Community Center (1500 Coalton Road) while supplies last. First come, first served. The Community Center's hours can be found by visiting SuperiorCommunityCenter.com.

Don’t let your Halloween pumpkins go to waste
As Halloween wraps up, consider giving your old pumpkins a new purpose! Composting is a fantastic way to prevent hundreds of pumpkins from ending up in Colorado's landfills. Not only does composting enrich the soil, but it also prevents more concerning decomposition byproducts at a landfill. If you receive composting service at home, toss it in your compost bin or backyard compost pile; otherwise, you can head over to the CHaRM facility (6400 Arapahoe Road in Boulder). If you'd rather not compost, check with local farms—many are eager to feed your old pumpkins to their livestock!
Just remember, if your pumpkins are coated with any chemicals or painted, it's best to throw them in the trash.
