Mark your calendars! The cities of Louisville and Lafayette and the Towns of Superior and Erie are hosting Ecotoberfest, a regional sustainability event, on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Louisville Community Park (955 Bella Vista Drive, Louisville).
Ecotoberfest will feature over 40 vendors and exhibitors, a sustainable marketplace, an electric vehicle showcase, no-cost small electronics recycling, a Halloween costume exchange where you can pick up free reused costumes, a locally sourced pumpkin patch, a kids’ bounce house, food trucks, face painting, a beer garden and live music!
We invite you to join us in envisioning and creating healthy, resilient and sustainable communities in the Front Range. This event is free and open to the public. We’re also looking for event help! Sign up to volunteer.
Costume exchange makes Halloween eek-o-friendly Do you have old Halloween costumes lying around? Join us in the fun with the Ecotoberfest Halloween costume exchange! Donate your clean, gently used costumes to the swap through the collection bin at the front desk of the Superior Community Center from now until Sept. 30. All costumes will be sorted through and available at the Ecotoberfest event on Oct. 5. Come by to find some something cute, spooky or silly!
Town of Superior Board considers new waste collection options
The Town provides waste collection service to approximately 1,000 homes in Superior not part of the Rock Creek Master HOA through a third-party hauler. The Town’s current contract expires at the end of the year, so staff and ACES have been engaging residents, collecting information on best practices and neighboring contracts, and working with the Town Board since early this year to prepare for a new contract. Learn more about the new waste collection options being considered in this PDF.
