Electric rebates and tax credits available now
2024 is the year to consider going electric if you haven’t already. Federal tax credits and State Heat Pump Tax Credits are available for homeowners and renters, with federal rebates becoming available later this year through the Colorado Energy Office’s (CEO) development of Home Efficiency Rebate programs established in the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Now is the time to start planning for electrification upgrades!
Rewiring America is an electrification nonprofit that has created free resources to help you figure out how to get started and what funds are available, including:
-
Personal Electrification Planner - generate an electrification plan based on your home, lifestyle and priorities — all in just a few minutes. It even includes links to the related incentives!
-
Go Electric guide - easy-to-digest information on electrification, including what to know about incentives, equipment overviews and case studies.
-
Savings Calculator- personalized to you to find out what incentives are available.
Are you curious about which energy efficiency upgrades qualify for federal tax credit incentives or how to claim them? Check out ENERGY STAR’s Federal Tax Credits website.

Town wins grant to advance sustainability initiatives
The Town of Superior has been awarded a grant of $25,000 to advance the Town’s sustainability initiatives as part of the Boulder County Environmental Sustainability Matching Grant program.
Sustainability staff will use these funds to move forward energy efficiency and electrification projects, including audits at Town facilities to assess future energy-related investments and replacing gas-powered equipment with electric equipment, where possible.
While this grant focuses on Superior’s facilities, the Town will launch resident-focused electrification events and programming soon. Stay tuned for updates as these projects unfold!

Garden In A Box One of the best ways to tackle problem areas in your yard is by planting a beautiful, waterwise Garden In A Box this spring. These professionally designed kits are perfect for Colorado yards and are super easy to install. Plus, they can help you save around 7,300 gallons of water over the garden's lifetime compared to a traditional grass lawn, which can also mean savings on your water bill.
