Join the Boulder County Solar Co-op!
Have you thought about putting solar panels on your roof? Boulder County has partnered with nonprofit Solar United Neighbors (SUN) to bring residents the Boulder County Solar Co-op this fall — a free group to help you go solar. This program is similar to the Town of Superior’s program from 2022, Solarize Superior, but now on a larger scale.
Together, co-op members will learn about solar energy and leverage their numbers to get competitive pricing and quality solar installations. After a competitive bidding process facilitated by SUN, a group of volunteers from the co-op will select a solar company to complete the co-op's installations. Note that the co-op is free to join, and members are not obligated to buy solar panels.
If you missed the Lafayette Library launch event, you can attend the Solar 101 event at the Boulder Library on Oct. 25 or the SUN virtual event to learn more on Nov. 15. You don’t need to attend an event to participate in the co-op, but it is helpful to learn about this unique and exciting process.
Want to learn more? Get all the details, see local events, and sign up for the co-op by visiting SUN’s webpage.

Waste Corner
In this section in our newsletter, we focus on one waste-related topic in Superior. To keep it simple, remember the 4 R’s: Reduce the amount of waste you produce, Reuse items as much as you can before replacing them, and Repair and Recycle items wherever possible.
Spotlight: Sustainably Living Through the 3R’s & C: Reduce, Reuse, Recycling & Composting
It can be tough to keep track of all the recycling and composting guidelines in Boulder County, but Michelle Gazarik, Eco-Cycle Eco-Leader and Advisory Committee for Environmental Sustainability (ACES) member, is here to help! Join Michelle and your fellow Superior residents for a free monthly class to learn how to reduce you carbon footprint, practice zero waste, and learn about easy daily swap outs to live more sustainably.
