Memorial Day is just around the corner, and it’s beginning to feel a lot like summer! We have some great opportunities that connect to this sunny season, whether it’s by honing in your sprinkler system, exploring options for renewable cooling in your home, events to ride your bike, or increased awareness of daily air quality as you enjoy time outside. As always, thanks for being a part of making Superior a sustainable, resilient, and vibrant community.

Learn How to Recycle Your E-bike Battery
Millions of electric bikes are being ridden on roads and trails across the U.S., helping Americans replace car trips, reduce their personal carbon footprint, and access the countless benefits and joys of the great outdoors!
With those bikes, there are also millions of lithium-ion batteries that will need to be properly managed at their end of life. Learn more where and how you can recycle your e-bike battery locally through the Call2Recycle website.

State of Colorado Adopts Environmental Bills
Girl Scouts Inform Residents About Air Quality
We are coming into warmer weather, which also means increases in ozone levels and days with unsafe air quality here along the Front Range. Thanks to local Girl Scout Troop 75930, the Superior Community Center now has a daily flag display outside notifying residents of local air quality daily through a simple flag system. The Troop will raise a green, yellow, orange, red, or purple flag to inform residents of the daily Air Quality Index.
To stay in the know wherever you are, visit the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment daily air quality monitoring dashboard or get alerts for poor air quality days by texting "BETTERAIRCO" to 21000 or by signing up for e-mail alerts.
