The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is taking public comment while it reviews its key aviation noise policies. These policies directly impact local airport noise.
Submit your comments and feedback online on the FAA's Noise Policy Review webpage. Comments must be submitted to the FAA by July 31. You can also mail your comments to Docket Operations, M–30; U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE, Room W12–140, West Building Ground Floor, Washington, DC 20590–0001, or fax comments to 202-493-2251.
The FAA is also holding two more Noise Policy Review Webinars through Zoom. These meetings are on:
- Tuesday, May 23, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
- Thursday, May 25, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
The meetings can also be viewed on the FAA’s YouTube channel during or after each meeting.
The FAA is considering how changes to its civil aviation noise policy may better inform agency decision making. The FAA will incorporate these public comments along with research on the effects of aviation noise exposure when considering these changes.
For more detailed information about this process, please view the Civil Aviation Noise Policy Review webpage.
Finally, you can find more information about local airport noise by visiting the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport Noise Roundtable's webpage.
