Ash Tree Removal Taking Place in Select Areas around the Town of Superior
The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) has created havoc on the ash tree population in the area. In Superior, ash trees have been monitored and treated since the problem surfaced. Over the next few months, you will see many diseased ash trees being removed in select areas around the Town. As trees are lost, staff has also been directed to replenish the tree inventory across Superior.
The Marshall Fire also affected many trees of various species. Staff will be continuously monitoring the health of these trees. Some are expected to survive. The ones that do not will be removed over time.
If you have any questions about tree removal, please contact the Parks, Recreation & Open Space Department at tospros@superiorcolorado.gov or 303-554-9005. To learn more about the Emerald Ash Borer, visit this Boulder County EAB website.
