Thank you all for joining us in the first Town event of the season. It was a beautiful Arbor Day celebration and an out-of-this-world ribbon cutting for the new Purple Park playground. The sun was shining and so too were the smiles! A big thank you to our local Girl Scout Troops for leading the community in planting six trees throughout the park. Also, a big thank-you to all our vendors for helping to make this a tree-rific, fun-filled Arbor Day.
COMING UP: Save the date for the Town of Superior's 4th of July Celebration that will include the Downhill Mile road race, the Superior Parade, the Superior Youth Leadership Council Kickball Tournament and the "Return of the Pancakes!" Stay tuned for more information.

Online Court Reservations
The Town of Superior will soon open the North Pool Tennis Courts 2 and 3 for online reservation for the months of June through October. Courts 2 and 3 will be available for online reservation when youth and adult tennis programs taught by the Town's tennis provider, Rocky Mountain Tennis Center, are not taking place. Reservations can be made seven days in advance of any particular day with the option to reserve a court either 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 1 hour 30 minutes. Reservations open May 25.
Court 1 has priority use for private lessons taught by RMTC and Court 4 remains at all times a "drop-in/first come, first served" court for community use. All tennis courts default to "drop-in/first come, first served" when programs are not taking place or a reservation scheduled.

Engage your child in stories and get a little you-time, too! The Superior Youth Leadership Council (SYLC) is hosting a FREE read-aloud series. While this event was created with families affected by the fires in mind, all are welcome.
Children can bring in a favorite book or choose a new book to explore from our library. Caregivers are asked to remain close by in the building but are welcome to enjoy a little time to themselves.
This program will be hosted at the Superior Community Center (1500 Coalton Road) every 2nd Friday of the month starting Friday, May 13 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Registration is requested but not required. If you have questions, please contact SYLC Staff Liaison, Mikaela Gregg at mikaelag@superiorcolorado.gov.

In partnership with Vargas Property Services and Miles McGaughey, PROS staff began a pilot pollinator program in Community Park and Autrey Park on Tuesday, May 3. The first phase of this program consisted of creating native, non-stinging bee habitat in several areas of each park and populating these areas with pupate to encourage more efficient results. Once established, these native, pollinating bees will expedite growth for a diverse set of plant species and enhance Marshall Fire recovery efforts. You gotta love those adorable, non-stinging pollinators!
