Upon Returning to Residences

If you live SOUTH of Coalton Road or in the Bell Flatirons Apartments you are now able to return to your home. We will issue notices on other areas of Town as soon as possible with safety as the primary concern.

Upon your return, here are a few pieces of important information:

Re-Establishing Gas and Electric
If your gas was shut off due to wildfires in the Superior and Louisville area, please do not call to request a relight appointment. Xcel crews follow an established process after a natural gas outage to restore service safely and efficiently. If you are not home when we arrive, we will leave a door tag asking you to call us back for a relight. For more information, refer to our Natural Gas Restoration Info Sheet. Boil Water Before Using
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one (1) minute, and let it cool before using, OR use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. Due to potential COVID-19 concerns, boiling your water is the lowest risk option since you do not need to leave your home. DETAILED INFORMATION

Heaters Available
To pick up an electric heater, please stop by the Red Cross shelter at YMCA in Lafayette at 2800 Dagny Way, or at the Boulder YWCA at 2222 14th St. between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Clean Water Available at the Fire House (2701 S Indiana St,)
303-494-3735
The National Guard Water Buffalos and Boulder County will be making available clean drinking water for residents of both Superior and Louisville to come and fill up bottles of drinking water at the Fire House at the intersection of Coalton Road and South Indiana Street. Please be advised that entering the Town of Superior is only happening through Coalton Road.

Protecting Your Home's Plumbing
Because of the cold temperatures and lack of heat in many homes, please take time to shut off your main water valve (usually located in the basement or crawl space), open several faucets to let the water drain. If a leak is discovered call a plumber or the Town. Also, Keep an eye on your neighbors’ homes.  If you know of any residences that are unoccupied or are out of town, call the Town. We’ll shut off their water service to prevent damage from frozen pipes. 303.499.3675
