This Must Be the Place by artist Joshua Wiener is a newly installed sculpture series with an accompanying winding viewing trail.
With the mountains visibly to the west from MaCaslin Boulevard, the five 74” tall steel rings appear to be rolling down the hill, or climbing upward, depending on one’s vantage point. The surrounding views framed by each ring will shift while traversing the path or simply passing by, but ultimately creating or enhancing a sense of motion.
Come by the Oerman-Roche Trailhead to view this new art installation. 414 McCaslin Boulevard in Superior.

Rodenticides, commonly called “rat poison”, are frequently used to control mice and voles around homes. However, these toxins can have a devastating effect on predators, especially raptors, when they capture and eat poisoned rodents. A mouse that has eaten rodenticide takes about five days to die, and until then the sickened animal is an easy target for predators. Eating just a single poisoned mouse can kill a small or nestling raptor.
What are some ways to keep our homes and yards free of rodents without using poison? The most effective solution is to eliminate food sources--like spilled birdseed, loose compost, or fallen fruit--that attract rodents. Removing hiding places such as thick vegetation from around the house and sealing small openings in siding and around doors can keep mice away. Voles especially dislike the smell of coffee grounds, garlic, and hot chili peppers, so these can be blended and spread around areas of vole activity. Finally, there are various trap options to catch and control rodents.

December 7, 1941 brought an attack upon the United States the likes of which had never been seen before. Join Active Minds on this 80th anniversary as we tell the story from both the Japanese and the U.S. perspective. We will cover not only how the Japanese planned and executed such a bold attack, but also how the U.S. could have been caught so completely unaware. We will also examine the impact this had on World War II and the American psyche.
This is an indoor, in-person program December 7 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Superior Community Center (1500 Coalton Road) hosted by the Louisville Public Library. Currently, masks are required in all indoor public settings in Boulder County for everyone age 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status.
