RMMA Community Noise Roundtable Update
The Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (RMMA) Community Noise Roundtable (CNR) was created by an Intergovernmental Agreement dated December 1, 2020, between Jefferson County, Boulder County, the City & County of Broomfield, Westminster, Arvada, Superior, and Louisville.
At the most recent CNR meeting on October 11, 2021, the Roundtable passed a motion to create a task force that will work with airport staff to study and propose changes to flight paths in and out of RMMA. After the task force formulates their recommendations, those proposals will then be sent to the FAA for consideration. While the composition of the task force is still to be determined, members of the CNR indicated a desire for it to include CNR member government representatives, airport staff, and members of the public as well. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting development.
Other presentations and recommendations discussed by the RMMA CNR. RMMA’s draft Strategic Business Plan Presentation to CNR. Recommendations made by ABCx2 heard by CNR RMMA response to recommendations by ABCx2
The CNR meets monthly on the second Monday of each month between 9am-11am. For more information about the CNR or to view past meetings, agendas, meeting materials and upcoming agendas, please visit the CNR website.

Holiday Lights to be Scaled Back in 2021
Since 2011, the Town of Superior has partnered with the Rock Creek HOA to provide holiday lights in the community. The Town has appreciated the partnership with the HOA over the last ten years. Over that time, the HOA contributed financially each year toward the decorations. This year, the Rock Creek HOA informed the Town that they would not be continuing with the partnership and would not be providing their share of funds for holiday lights. The result of the loss will be a decrease in the number of locations the lights and decorations will appear in and throughout Superior. For the 2021 holiday season, the Town will apply its usual funding amount as years past to the decorations plan, evaluate the scaled back look, and decide if additional funds to enhance the decorations are needed in forthcoming years.

Mountain View Fire Rescue
Kitchen Fires are the Number One Cause of Home Fires
Cooking-related fires are the number one cause of home fires and home fire injuries and 47 percent of them start as the result of cooking equipment left unattended according to the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA). "Never leave a burner unattended for more than a couple minutes” sounds like an easy rule to follow but is more challenging in practice as distractions arise. Consider setting a timer when you walk away from the range. It not only alerts you when food is ready; it also helps ensure you return to the stovetop before too long after a distraction. Setting a timer at five-minute intervals will remind you to check your stovetop.
Keep smoke alarms in good working order, clean and maintain vents, stovetops, countertops, and oven interiors. Keep combustible items such as wooden spoons, rags, oven mitts and loose paper several feet away from the stovetop and oven to prevent these items from starting a fire. Keeping a fire extinguisher nearby. Pay close attention when cooking with oil or grease.
