Charge electric cars at home — the new way to fuel up

Ever wonder why your neighbor’s car looks like it might be plugged in? Because it is!

Charging an electric car at home is the newest way to fuel up a car. Driving electric allows you to ditch antiquated and inconvenient gas stations. Instead, when you get home simply use the cable that came with your car to plug it into a regular three-prong outlet and you’ll be ready to roll the next morning. Visit Boulder County’s Electric Vehicle Resources and Information page to learn more about federal and state tax credits and other incentives available to help you go electric!

Community Sustainability Framework

The Town’s Community Sustainability Framework identifies five milestones for the development and implementation of a sustainability plan.

Milestone 1: Conduct a Sustainability Assessment (May 2021-July 2021)
Milestone 2: Establish Sustainability Goals (May 2021-September 2021)
Milestone 3: Develop a Strategic, Adaptable Sustainability Plan (August 2021-Early 2022)
Milestone 4: Implement Strategies (2022--)
Milestone 5: Monitor, Measure and Adjust (2022--)

The Town of Superior Sustainability Plan will include short, medium and long-term strategies to advance the Town’s sustainability goals. There will be opportunities for public engagement throughout the planning and implementation process. Stay tuned and check the Planning for Sustainability webpage to learn how you can get involved!

Important Information About Your Utility Bill

The Town of Superior has been monitoring COVID-19 crisis on a regular basis since early 2020. Because of this pandemic, the Town decided to suspend water turn offs for non-payment as residents were economically impacted by the pandemic. We recognize that access to clean water is a vital component to reduce the spread of the virus. However, as the State of Colorado has moved to “Level Clear” in May per the State Health Department, we would like to give all our residents an advance notice that the Town will reassess late fees to statements due on 7/5/2021 (per Section 6 of the Superior Metropolitan District No. 1 Rules & Regulations) and resume disconnection of service (per Section 7 of the Superior Metropolitan District No. 1 Rules & Regulations).

The Town will continue to assist individuals who have been economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and are struggling to pay their past-due utility bills. We will work with you to set up a payment plan that meets your needs.

Please contact the Utility Billing office at 720-304-6797 or via email  utilitybilling@superiorcolorado.gov to discuss your options; and remember, a partial payment is better than no payment.

Disposing of Large Household Items

If you have large household items to dispose of, there are local options available.

Both the Town and Rock Creek HOA provide trash and recycling collection services through contracts with Waste Connections, and the firm provides year-round large item pick-up to residents for a small fee. Call 303-288-2100, or visit wcdenver.com to find out more and schedule a pick-up day.

Recycling Options - Recycle Row

What and where is Recycle Row?

While the street isn’t actually named “Recycle Row,” the 1.2 mile stretch from 63rd Street and Valmont down to 6400 Arapahoe Ave. is now home to every current City of Boulder and Boulder County Zero Waste facility. This makes it possible for residents and businesses to easily recycle, compost or reuse almost every discard item they would have. ecocycle.org
