Criminal Activity in Superior

Over the pandemic months, Superior has had an uptick in criminal activity regarding vehicle trespasses (car break-ins) and auto thefts. Most recently, there have been banks of mailboxes opened with items reports stolen, and catalytic converters being cut from vehicle exhaust systems. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is aware of these spikes, and regularly conducts extra patrols throughout Town to prevent these random criminal episodes. Don’t make yourself an easy target. Secure your vehicles and garage doors. Don’t leave valuables in your vehicles, including car keys, garage door openers, and wallets/purses. Leaving these items in your vehicles has led to secondary crimes such as garage burglaries, auto thefts, and identity thefts. Don’t leave your vehicles running and unattended, puffing is illegal if you do not have remote start capability. Deputies have successfully interrupted several events, but we need your assistance as residents and community members to help combat the problem. Help us catch these people by reporting suspicious people or activities right away. Please contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately at 303-441-4444 or 9-1-1.
