Last Week’s Town Meetings Recap
Town Board (Virtual Meeting 06.08.20) - During Monday’s Town Board meeting, the Board heard a presentation from CliftonLarsonAllen on the 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report; made a proclamation for Gun Violence Awareness Day 2020; approved an ordinance amending the Municipal Code to update write-in candidate affidavit and election cancellation deadlines to comport with state law; approved appointments to several Town advisory groups; re-appointed David Thrower as Municipal Court Judge; and held a continued public hearing for the Final Development Plan to construct the Marshall Road Bridge over Coal Creek in Downtown Superior and approved the application. The Board also held a public hearing to review and comment on a request for: a Final Subdivision Plat for Parq at Rock Creek to create one 15.45-acre development lot and three tracts of land totaling 7.33 acres, which would also dedicate 0.97 acres of right-of-way for the expansion and development of S. 88th Street; a Rezoning/Planned Unit Development proposal to amend the Rock Creek Ranch PUD to rezone Block 1, Lot 1 and Tracts A-C from Regional Activity Center zoning (RAC) to Residential (R-2A) zoning; and a Final Plat Site Plan to develop Lot 1, Block 1 and Tracts A-C of Rock Creek Ranch Filing 25 which includes 22 apartment buildings (180 units) in addition to a clubhouse, leasing center, and public parking. The public hearing was continued to the Town Board meeting on June 22, 2020.
OSAC (Virtual Meeting 06.10.20) - At the June 10th meeting OSAC heard a presentation and made a recommendation on a preferred alignment for the new US-36 regional bike trail going through Autrey Park. Members also heard a presentation from PROS Consulting on the timeline for the Town of Superior PROST master plan. Finally, OSAC reviewed the recent activity on the Parq at Rock Creek development application.
ACES (Virtual Meeting 06.11.20) - This month ACES covered several topics. Steve Sain was appointed to Vice Chair of ACES. Mike Svetz, Principal, PROS Consulting gave a presentation to ACES on the services his company will be offering the Town to update the PROST master plan, which has not been updated since 2005. ACES provided feedback and edits were made to the waste services contract scope of work based on feedback from the recent survey, which will be included in the RFP later this year. ACES drafted a recommendation to the Town Board to add a new full time staff member dedicated to supporting sustainability initiatives in the town. Language to be included in the landscape RFP was reviewed and discussed relating to overall reducing/eliminating emissions and noise pollution from landscaping tools and equipment. Draft recommendations for establishing the Town's Sustainability Goals were reviewed.
