2026: Year of the Silverthorne Recreation Center Expansion
The Recreation Center's expansion project is well underway and is on track to be completed later this year during Fall 2026!
The Silverthorne Recreation Center expansion project is the culmination of extensive planning efforts to enhance the existing facility with a 24,000-square-foot addition designed to meet the community's recreational needs. The expansion includes:
- Expanded weight room space
- A new multi-activity court (MAC) gymnasium that includes a dedicated gymnastics area and an additional gymnasium
- A new viewing lounge overlooking the MAC gymnasium
- Two new multi-use rooms
- Dedicated space for licensed school-aged camps

Upcoming Programs

The art of dance is taught through visualization and creative movement using props, costumes, and fun! Leap over “mud puddles”, boogie with bean bags, and follow along to lively dance routines.

Children's books will lead kids on a food adventure in this fun and engaging class! With hands-on cooking, participants will explore fun and creative recipes with a healthy twist that follow the storyline of the books read.
|
Spend Saturday mornings with the Silverthorne Recreation Center at a toddler gymnastics class, as little ones learn tumbling skills and have fun on child-specific gymnastics equipment.
Enjoy a fresh mix of indoor games, outdoor play, team challenges, and simple creative activities in a classic camp-style program for kids. No two days are the same, and kids will stay engaged, build friendships, and burn energy in a positive, supportive environment. Can't attend every Monday? Sign up by day, including some no-school days!

Kids can learn sports by playing organized recreational games that promote teamwork and sportsmanship during this fun program. Each session will include skills practice and game time. All levels of players are welcome.
Kids can try out multiple styles of dance in one fun class! Explore and develop an appreciation and love of movement as kids learn the fundamentals of dance through choreographed routines and improvisation.

Friday, Jan. 2 at the Art Spot Silverthorne Makerspace Kick off the new year with creative intent and join the Town of Silverthorne for an Art Spot Open House on Friday, Jan. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. Head to the Art Spot Silverthorne Makerspace for guided crafts, artistic demos, and more. Enjoy free empanadas, hot chocolate and cider while supplies last.

Tuesday, Jan. 6 at the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center The community is invited to a Meet and Greet with the three final Silverthorne Town Manager candidates at the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Each candidate will speak briefly about their background and interest in Silverthorne, followed by an opportunity for community members to speak with the candidates. Attendees will also be able to provide feedback regarding the candidates via comment cards. Light refreshments will be provided.

Friday, Jan. 9 at the Silverthorne Pavilion The Silverthorne Pavilion invites you to Noche de Baile Latina on Friday, Jan. 9. Instructor Michael Marin will teach the Bachata and Merengue from 7 to 8:30 p.m., followed by open dancing until 10:30 p.m. This FREE event is open to all, regardless of dance experience. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Sunday, Jan. 11 at the Silverthorne Recreation Center Join the Town of Silverthorne for a memorial walk and resource fair to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and to learn about available community resources. This event is held in loving memory of Charlie Foster and anyone affected by mental illness. Dress warm as the walk will be outside at Rainbow Park. Attendees are welcome to join the group walk at 2:30 p.m. or walk on their own. Hot drinks and sweet treats will be provided.

Friday, Jan. 16 at the Silverthorne Pavilion Enjoy an evening of guided lessons from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by open dancing until 10:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Admission is $10 per person.

January Schedules
Take a fitness class at the Silverthorne Recreation Center! The Silverthorne Recreation Center offers a variety of drop-in fitness classes, including Pilates, Muscle Madness, water fitness and more.
Please note that reservations are required for 9 a.m. Muscle Madness classes. These classes are included in daily admission, but reservations are required due to limited space. Reservations are available 24 hours before a class, and walk-ins may be accepted only if space is still available.

The aquatics area features a variety of pools and amenities for all ages and interests. Bring your family in for a fun-filled day of play or unwind in the hot tub after a day outdoors.
Aquatics Waitlist: Due to the required lifeguard-to-patron ratios, the number of people allowed in the aquatics area may be restricted at times. When capacities are reached, guests will be placed on a waitlist to ensure the safety of our visitors. The front desk staff will collect contact information and will text those on the waitlist when space becomes available in the aquatics area. Thank you for your understanding and support as our lifeguards strive to provide a safe environment.

Grab your friends and family and head to the gym for a game of basketball, volleyball or pickleball. Be sure to check the schedule before your visit to ensure your activity is available.

The Silverthorne Recreation Center is hosting a new winter pickleball league, running Saturday nights from Jan. 10 to Feb. 7. The league will take place from 6:15 to 9 p.m. in the gymnasium and is open to those in the intermediate level (3.0-3.5 DUPR) or advanced division (3.6+ DUPR ratings). Each team will play two matches per night, with three games in each match.
