Call for Art: Recycling Fence Art Installation

The Silverthorne Art Board seeks an artist or team of artists to create an original mural or art installation on Silverthorne’s Recycling Center Fence. The mural should pay homage to the recycling center and Silverthorne's sustainability efforts, and incorporate educational elements about recycling, its connection to the environment, and the local community.

Artists are encouraged to incorporate a community participation element into their proposal. This can occur during the creation or installation process, or as part of a recycling awareness event held at the site in conjunction with the unveiling of the installation. The goal is to engage the public in meaningful ways that support environmental awareness and community connection.

This installation will be located on the west-facing fence of the recycling center along River Road in Silverthorne, CO. Artist applications are due on Friday, Aug. 22, at noon. Learn more and submit your artwork for consideration for the recycling fence art installation here.

Town of Silverthorne Changing to Monthly Utility Billing in 2026

Beginning in January 2026, the Town of Silverthorne will transition from quarterly to monthly utility billing. Changing the utility billing frequency from quarterly to monthly will enable the Town to enhance customer service, promote water conservation, and provide greater convenience and monthly budgeting for residents and businesses.

By changing to monthly utility billing:

  • Customers will have smaller, more frequent payments to help simplify their monthly expenses and cash flow.
  • Monthly billing can alleviate the burden on customers by spreading out the cost of water usage more evenly throughout the year. This helps remove the financial strain of large, quarterly bills.
  • Encourage water conservation by providing utility customers with more immediate feedback on their water usage, enabling them to track usage patterns and make adjustments to reduce their water consumption and lower their bills.
  • Billing errors can be identified and corrected more quickly, ensuring that residents and businesses are charged accurately and have higher satisfaction and trust in the Town’s utility services.
  • A monthly billing cycle helps the Town improve its financial planning and allocation of resources for the water, sewer and stormwater management funds, ensuring a consistent revenue stream for utility maintenance and other important projects.

The Town of Silverthorne will provide additional information closer to the billing change in 2026, including instructions on how to view and manage your monthly statements and autopay options.
