expansion construction at the Silverthorne Recreation Center

Recreation Center Expansion Project

The Recreation Center expansion project has officially begun! Construction has started, and patrons will notice a temporary construction wall inside the facility. The construction wall will impact the indoor track, which will be closed to regular track use during this phase of construction. The large heavy bag located off the track is also unavailable. All other areas of the Recreation Center, including the aquatics area, will not be impacted by construction at this time.

Parking

Community members visiting Rainbow Park can access the park via Rainbow Drive, the front parking lot of the Silverthorne Recreation Center, or the Rainbow Park parking lot located off Rainbow Drive. The parking lot behind the Recreation Center, providing direct access to the Rainbow Park tot lot and volleyball courts, will be closed during construction.

Expansion Areas

The new area of the Recreation Center will feature licensed school-aged care, a multi-activity court (MAC) gymnasium with dedicated gymnastics space, expanded weight room space, a viewing area overlooking the MAC gymnasium and new multi-use rooms. These new spaces will provide more workout space, sports courts, and program space for community members.
