Maker of the Month: Thomas Beveridge
Each month, the Art Spot Silverthorne Makerspace highlights a Maker of the Month to showcase the talented artists and creators in our community.
Artist Thomas Beveridge began creating at a young age. Encouraged by parents and teachers while growing up, Thomas eventually went to college for Graphic and 3D Design, where he continued his journey in the art world. Years later, the spark of a new idea has brought back creative energy and expression to his life.
At the Art Spot, Thomas enjoys creating within a community of artists who are welcoming, encouraging, friendly, and happy to provide feedback. "It's a great place to create and meet fellow artists. Plus, the ability to have the space to create and combine mediums has been amazing," says Thomas. "Not to mention all the tools that are available to create with!"
As a longtime resident of Summit County, Thomas says he has had many jobs over the years that have given him valuable artistic and creative skills, such as handyman, bartender, server, artist, and teacher. Now, he is prioritizing building his company, The Last Note, into a viable art business.
"It would be a dream to create custom-designed, repurposed instruments for some major recording artists like Billy Strings, Trey Anastasio, Keith Moseley, Marcus King, Robert Randolph, or the like... if anyone happens to be reading," says Thomas. Repurposing, memorializing, dedicating, and commemorating instruments that have more sentimental value than playable use is the goal and purpose of his business. "I'd love to create repurposed instrument art for everyone to enjoy in new ways, for many years to come."
