The Silverthorne Recreation Center expansion project will officially begin construction the week of April 21 as the construction team begins mobilizing the site. Recreation Center patrons will notice equipment set up taking place in the expansion area, which is located in the rear of the facility.

Construction Impacts

A temporary construction wall will be built inside the facility during the week of April 28. The construction wall will impact the indoor track, which will be closed to regular track use during this phase of construction. Part of the track will be available for access to cardio and circuit equipment, and for patrons to use while stretching, etc. The large heavy bag located off the track and by the circuit equipment will also be unavailable. All other areas of the Recreation Center, including the aquatics area, will not be impacted by construction at this time.

Parking

Community members visiting Rainbow Park will need to access the park via Rainbow Drive, the front parking lot of the Silverthorne Recreation Center, or the Rainbow Park parking lot off Rainbow Drive. Parking behind the Recreation Center for direct access to the Rainbow Park tot lot and volleyball courts will be closed during construction.

Construction Timing

The expansion project at the Silverthorne Recreation Center will take place from Spring 2025 to Fall 2026. Construction impacts on the facility will vary throughout the project's different phases.
