Summer Hours Begin May 31

Summer hours at the Silverthorne Recreation Center will begin on Saturday, May 31. 

  • Monday through Friday: Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Aquatics Hours: 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Aquatics Hours: 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: Hours: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Aquatics Hours: 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Adjusted May Hours

The Silverthorne Recreation Center will have adjusted operations on the following dates for holidays and an all-staff employee party. Thank you for your understanding! 

  • Friday, May 9: The Recreation Center will close at 6 p.m. and the pool will close at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9 for the Town of Silverthorne employee party. 
  • Memorial Day, Monday, May 26: The Silverthorne Recreation Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the pool will close at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day.

Silverthorne Parks

The basketball, volleyball, tennis/pickleball courts are now open at Rainbow Park and Trent Park and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Volleyballs, basketballs and pickleball paddles may be checked out at the Silverthorne Recreation Center front desk with a valid ID and phone number. Please be respectful of others and share the court space when possible. Free court reservations will begin May 27. 


Summer Programs at the Recreation Center

There is still time to sign up for summer fun at the Silverthorne Recreation Center. Check out these opportunities and make it a summer to remember!

Little Ones, ages 3 to 5, can explore outside and learn about gardening and pollinators in the Peewee Gardeners and Peewee Pollinators camps. Older children can try something new with a TRI Camp (try a triathlon!), get outside with Totally Nature and Budding Gardeners camps, or take their summer to new heights with a Gymnastics or Skateboard Camp.

Not sure what your teen or tween is going to do this summer? The Silverthorne Recreation Center has great opportunities for teens and tweens to grow and develop skills while connecting with others through Dive ClubJr Lifeguard Training, Triathlon Camp, or Youth Beach Volleyball. Teens can also take it outside, learning important skills or sparking imagination with Camp Creative at North Pond Park or Wilderness Survival Camp

Adults have plenty of ways to have fun this summer too, with Boot Camp, Hooping and Skateboarding clinics, and Pickleball classes and more.

Join the Recreation Center for a fun-filled beginner hula-hoop class. Kids will learn exciting tricks, create hoop sequences, and enjoy free-flow time. Along the way, they'll develop coordination and balance, connect to music, and express their creativity.

Hooping 101: Flow, Dance & Self Expression

Get ready for summer concert season or simply have a fun night out with friends and discover the joy of hoop dance with a certified Hoop Love instructor! In this beginner-friendly class, participants will learn new tricks, build coordination, practice balance, and explore creative flow using hula hoops of all weights and sizes. Have fun practicing mindfulness and self-expression in this inclusive class.

Adult Learn to Skateboard Classes

Are you interested in skateboarding but need a little direction, or are you looking to complement your snowboarding skills with a comparable summer sport? At this beginner skateboarding clinic, adults will learn the basics of skateboarding, including foot placement, balance, pushing, stopping, turning, and more. All levels welcome!

4v4 Sand Volleyball League

This summer, kick off your shoes, dig your toes into the sand and play some volleyball at Silverthorne's Beach! Create a team of four and bump, set, and laugh your way to fun games in the sun during this relaxed, co-ed recreational outdoor league. Volleyball teams must register by May 29.

May First Friday Locals' Appreciation Party

May First Friday Locals Party

Friday, May 2 on the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center Lawn

One of Silverthorne’s most popular First Friday events, the Locals’ Appreciation Party Sponsored by Locals Liquors, will be held on the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center lawn from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 2. The event will feature free beer, wine and liquor tasting and live music. Donations for local non-profits are strongly encouraged during this event. In years past, the Locals’ Appreciation Party has raised more than $46,000 for non-profit organizations.


Country Western Dance

Friday, May 16 at the Silverthorne Pavilion

Enjoy an evening of guided lessons from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by open dancing and live music from the Country Music Project until 10:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Admission is $15 per person.


Town Cleanup Day

Saturday, May 31 at Rainbow Park

Join the Town of Silverthorne for a countywide Cleanup Day on Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants will start at Rainbow Park in Silverthorne to pick up cleaning supplies, be assigned an area for clean up, and grab breakfast snacks. After cleaning up, head back to Rainbow Park for lunch at noon.

May Fitness Schedule

Spring is here! Get ready for your favorite summertime activities with a fitness class at the Silverthorne Recreation Center! The Silverthorne Recreation Center offers a variety of drop-in fitness classes such as Pilates, Muscle Madness, water fitness, and more.

Please note that reservations are required for cycling classes and 9 a.m. Muscle Madness classes. These classes are included in daily admission, but reservations are required due to limited space. Reservations are available 24 hours before a class, and walk-ins may be accepted only if space is still available.

May Aquatics Schedule

The aquatics area features a variety of pools and amenities for all ages and interests. Bring your family in for a fun-filled day of play or unwind in the hot tub after a day outdoors.

Aquatics Waitlist: Due to the required lifeguard-to-patron ratios, the number of people allowed in the aquatics area may be restricted at times. When capacities are reached, guests will be placed on a waitlist to ensure the safety of our visitors. The front desk staff will collect contact information and will text those on the waitlist when space becomes available in the aquatics area. Thank you for your understanding and support as our lifeguards strive to provide a safe environment.

May Gymnasium Schedule

Grab your friends and family and head to the gym for a game of basketball, volleyball or pickleball. Be sure to check the schedule before your visit to ensure your activity is available.

Silverthorne Recreation Center Expansion Project

The Silverthorne Recreation Center expansion project has officially begun construction. Recreation Center patrons will notice equipment set up in the expansion area located in the rear of the facility.

Construction Impacts

A temporary construction wall is being built inside the facility, impacting some areas.

  • Indoor Track: The temporary construction wall will impact the indoor track, which will be closed to regular track use during this construction phase. Part of the track will be available for access to cardio and circuit equipment, and patrons can use it while stretching, etc.
  • Large Heavy Bag: The large heavy bag located off the track will be unavailable. 

All other areas of the Recreation Center, including the aquatics area, will not be impacted by construction at this time.

Parking

Community members visiting Rainbow Park will need to access the park via Rainbow Drive, the front parking lot of the Silverthorne Recreation Center, or the Rainbow Park parking lot off Rainbow Drive. Parking behind the Recreation Center for direct access to the Rainbow Park tot lot and volleyball courts will be closed during construction.

Expansion Highlights & Funding

The expansion is anticipated to add more than 24,000 square feet of functional space, including licensed school-aged care, a multi-activity court (MAC) gymnasium, expanded weight room space, a viewing/lounge overlooking the MAC gymnasium, two new multi-use rooms, and storage/administrative space. 

The Recreation Center Expansion Project is funded by the Town of Silverthorne's 8% lodging tax.

Project Updates 

The expansion project at the Silverthorne Recreation Center will take place from Spring 2025 to Fall 2026. Construction impacts on the facility will vary throughout the project's different phases. Visit the project webpage for updates and the latest information.
