Future Site of Silverthorne Police Facility Selected

cottonwood south site

After a unanimous decision from the Silverthorne Town Council, Silverthorne Police Advisory Community and the public at a community open house in Jan. 2025, a site for the new Silverthorne Police Facility has been selected. The new facility will be located at the Cottonwood South site, north of Silverthorne Elementary School and south of the new Summit Fire & EMS Silverthorne fire station.

This site was selected because it has:

  • Potentially three access points
  • Room to expand and/or collaborate with the Summit County Sherriff
  • Protection of the elementary school
  • Most similar land use of adjacent lots

The police facility project will be in the design phase through 2025 with construction expected to begin in 2026 and a grand opening in 2027.
