Kick Off the New Year at the Silverthorne Recreation Center

Enjoy the start of the New Year at the Silverthorne Recreation Center! With four pools, two water slides, an aquatic climbing wall, a hot tub, a sauna, a steam room, fitness classes, a spacious gym, and more, there is something for everyone at the Silverthorne Recreation Center. 

Sign up for a program or stop by for an afternoon in the aquatics center after a day spent outside. The Silverthorne Recreation Center's winter operating hours are: 

  • Monday - Friday: 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aquatics Hours: 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aquatics Hours: 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aquatics Hours: 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Caring for Mental Health in the New Year

As we head into a new year, it is important to not only care for our physical health but our mental health as well. The Silverthorne Recreation Center offers free mental health first aid classes, to help attendees learn how to recognize mental health crises in youth and adults, and how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations. 

Community members can also learn more about mental health resources available in Summit County at a memorial walk and mental health fair in remembrance of Charlie Foster on Sunday, Jan. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Silverthorne Recreation Center

Peewee Paleontologists

Dig for fossils, get to know dinosaurs, and discover cool rocks while learning about what the Earth is made of. Tots are introduced to science concepts through storytelling, nature play, arts and crafts, and hands-on activities in this fun program.

Discover the joy of hoop dance with a certified Hoop Love instructor. In this beginner-friendly class, participants will learn new tricks, build coordination, practice balance, and explore creative flow using hula hoops of all weights and sizes. January First Friday Winter Party & Polar Plunge

Friday, Jan. 3 at North Pond Park
Celebrate the start of the New Year on January First Friday with an afternoon and evening of winter fun! On Friday, Jan. 3, head to North Pond Park from 2:00 to 7:30 p.m. for ice fishing, a polar plunge, ice skating under the lights, and more! Enjoy crafts with Frosted Flamingo, live music from DJ Nathan Yan, mobile saunas, and free hot cocoa around the fire. 


Charlie's Walk

Sunday, Jan. 5 at the Silverthorne Recreation Center

Join the Town of Silverthorne for a memorial walk and mental health fair in remembrance of Charlie Foster on Sunday, Jan. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Silverthorne Recreation Center. Help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and learn about available mental health resources. Dress warm as the walk will be outside at Rainbow Park. The first 50 people will receive a commemorative mug. Hot drinks and sweet treats will be provided.


Silverthorne Police Facility Open House

Thursday, Jan. 9 at the Silverthorne Pavilion 
Learn more about the planning process for the Silverthorne Police Department's new police facility at a community open house on Thursday, Jan. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Silverthorne Pavilion. Community members will be able to share feedback on the possible locations of the new facility to help make the final decision.


Noche de Baile Latine

Friday, Jan. 10 at the Silverthorne Pavilion
The Silverthorne Pavilion invites you to Noche de Baile Latina on Friday, Jan. 10. Instructor Michael Marin will teach the Bachata and Merengue from 7 to 8:30 p.m., followed by open dancing until 10:30 p.m. This free event is open to all, regardless of dance experience. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. 


Country Western Dance

Friday, Jan. 17 at the Silverthorne Pavilion
Enjoy an evening of guided lessons from 7-8 p.m. followed by open dancing until 10:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Admission is $10 per person.

January Fitness Schedule

Stay strong for winter activities with a fitness class at the Silverthorne Recreation Center! The Silverthorne Recreation Center offers a variety of drop-in fitness classes like Pilates, yoga, Muscle Madness, water fitness, and more.  

Please note reservations are required for cycling classes and 9 a.m. Muscle Madness classes. These classes are included in daily admission, but reservations are required due to limited space. Reservations are available 24 hours before a class and walk-ins may be accepted only if space is still available.

January Aquatics Schedule

The aquatics area hosts many different pools and amenities for people of all ages and interests. Bring your family in for a fun day of play or soak in the hot tub after a day outside.

Aquatics Waitlist: Due to the required ratios between lifeguards and patrons, the number of people allowed in the aquatics area may be restricted at times. When capacities are reached, guests will be placed on a waitlist to ensure the safety of our visitors. The front desk staff will collect contact information and will text those on the waitlist when space becomes available in the aquatics area. Thank you for your understanding and support as our lifeguards strive to provide a safe environment.
