Do Exit 205 Right: Living with Bears

Fall EXIT 205

As bears prepare to hibernate for the winter, they will forage for up to 20 hours a day. During this time of year, it is important to be extra viligant about human and bear conflicts to keep bears from feeding on trash. When people allow bears to find food, a bear’s natural drive to eat can overcome its wariness of humans. Bears that get too comfortable around people can destroy property or even become a threat to human safety. Learn more about how to live safely, and keep bears safe, by visiting the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website.
