Silverthorne News
Secure Your Vehicle and Property
The Silverthorne Police Department reminds the community to secure their vehicles and remove valuables from their car when parked. Several vehicle trespasses have been reported recently and it is important to keep vehicles and personal items secure.
The Town of Silverthorne Water Department is updating its existing fixed network water metering system with advanced water metering analytics that use cellular endpoints for water meter reading. These cellular water meters report data multiple times per day, providing an accurate representation of water use. The new water meters will allow the Town to better manage the water distribution system through continual system monitoring and will provide property owners with more accurate water usage readings and reporting. Water customers will be able to access a secure, web-based portal to monitor their water use, identify ways to conserve water, and set leak alarms.
Replacement Process
The Town of Silverthorne is working with a contractor to begin replacing water meters this summer. Installation typically takes less than an hour and residential water service will be interrupted for five to 10 minutes. Commercial customers may also experience water service interruptions during the installation. To update the water meters, the contractor will need access to the water meter at your property. Water meters are located inside, typically in a mechanical room or crawl space.
There is no cost to water customers to update their meter and there will be no change in water service. Learn more about replacing your water meter and how to schedule an appointment here.
