Maker of the Month: Nick Artist
Each month the Art Spot Silverthorne Makerspace is highlighting a Maker of the Month to showcase the talented artists and creators in our community.
With the last name Artist, Nick was born a creator! Nick has been practicing various forms of art most of his life, including charcoal, pastels and watercolor. His grandfather introduced him to woodworking, and with his years of experience as a white water rafting guide, Nick found a unique source of inspiration. Nick's woodwork focuses on paddles that not only look beautiful, but hold up to the rivers of the high country.
Nick has been using the Art Spot to craft his paddles, coming back time and time again due to the knowledgeable staff, friendly hours, and wide array of tools. "The Art Spot is amazing. It would take me a lifetime to put together all the tools and resources available at the Art Spot," says Nick.
Nick considers his craft a lifelong practice, "I want to make things until I die, and maybe at the end, have a few good pieces." Next up, Nick wants to pursue creating custom white water paddles.
