Maker of the Month: Lainy Noonan
Each month the Art Spot Silverthorne Makerspace is highlighting a Maker of the Month to showcase the talented artists and creators in our community.
Artist Lainy Noonan started painting at the age of 50 when a physical injury kept her from participating in sports. Aside from an occasional art class, she has not had any formal education or training, but continues to push herself to learn and keep practicing.
Lainy loves creating at the Art Spot "because I'm surrounded by the feel of creativity and the conditions for painting are great!" Lainy enjoys biking from her house to the Art Spot, and the convenient storage for materials available at the Art Spot.
"I paint for the joy of expressing myself," says Lainy, and while she doesn't typically do commissions, she has sold several pieces over the past couple of years. Her painting goals include continuing to explore new painting techniques and materials, learning to make her own frames, and working large and abstract.
