January First Friday Winter Party & Polar Plunge
Celebrate the start of the New Year at January First Friday with a night of winter fun! On Friday, Jan. 5, head to Maryland Creek Park for sledding under the lights and North Pond Park for ice skating and a polar plunge! Bring your own sleds and skates.
Maryland Creek Park Sledding
Enjoy sledding under the lights, live music and snow sculpting at Maryland Creek Park from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Food will be available for purchase from Melody's Food Cart. Please bring our own sled.

North Pond Park Ice Skating
Head to North Pond Park for ice skating under the lights, live music and snow sculpting from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please bring your own skates.

Polar Plunge
Test your strength against the icy forces of nature at Silverthorne's first Polar Plunge! The Town of Silverthorne, in coordination with Summit Fire & EMS and Summit County Water Rescue, will begin the Polar Plunge at 2:30 p.m. at North Pond Park. For every person that takes the plunge, the Town will donate $20 to Summit County Water Rescue.
Participants may arrive beginning at 2 p.m. and will have until 3:30 p.m. to enter the water in the designated plunge location. Participant registration is FREE but is limited to 100 participants. Register in advance here. All participants will receive a free First Friday beach towel.

Sunday, Jan. 7 at the Silverthorne Recreation Center Join the Town of Silverthorne for a memorial walk and resource fair on Sunday Jan. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. to help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and learn about available resources in the community. Dress warm as the walk will be outside at Rainbow Park.

Friday, Jan. 12 at the Silverthorne Pavilion Enjoy an evening of guided lessons from 7 to 8 p.m. followed by open dancing and cash bar until 10:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and admission is $10.

Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Silverthorne Pavilion Join Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Building Hope and the Town of Silverthorne for a showing of The Paradise Paradox on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Silverthorne Pavilion. Produced by Olympic ski racer Bode Miller and Emmy Award-winning impact sports filmmaker Brett Rapkin, The Paradise Paradox explores the mental health crisis affecting America's mountain towns and the innovative solutions being developed in response. Doors open at 6 p.m. and film begins at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Silverthorne Pavilion Sample beer and support the Summit County Rescue Group at the annual Brewer’s Rock for Rescue event at the Silverthorne Pavilion on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 5 - 9 p.m. Enjoy live music from Stereo Transmission and Float Like a Buffalo, beer from local Colorado Breweries and take home a commemorative glass.

Silverthorne continues to foster the local arts scene with three new park murals from four local artists. As part of the Silverthorne Art Board’s Public Art Grant Program, four of the 2023 grant recipients commissioned murals at Maryland Creek Park, Trent Park, and Willow Grove Open Space.
