Silverthorne Recreation Center Phase 2 Construction
The Silverthorne Recreation Center has reopened after being closed for demolition of the men’s and women’s locker rooms. Construction work for Phase 2 improvements, which includes a complete remodel of the men’s and women’s locker rooms, will continue with an anticipated completion in January 2024. While the men’s and women’s locker rooms are under construction, guests can use the new communal locker room for day-use lockers, changing and restrooms. Please note that space is limited, so whenever possible guests are encouraged to arrive dressed and prepared for their activities.
Showers Unavailable Until Further Notice
The Silverthorne Recreation Center has an unfortunate announcement regarding the newly constructed communal locker room. We are extremely disappointed to share that the new showers do not function properly and until they are fixed, the showers at the Recreation Center will be closed until further notice. This problem is being assessed by the project’s contractor, Adolfson and Peterson Construction, and more information on their plan to remedy the situation will be available soon.
While the showers are being fixed, the Silverthorne Recreation Center will remain open. Guests are encouraged to arrive at the Recreation Center ready for their activities. Restrooms are available upstairs and changing may be done privately in the upstairs restrooms or in the temporary changing tents located on the pool deck.
In the meantime, we are excited for the community to enjoy the new state-of-the-art gymnasium floor and improved traffic flow through the facility with the new staircase. In the coming weeks the remodeled front desk will be open, and the significantly improved men’s and women’s locker rooms will open in January 2024.
The Silverthorne Recreation Center will notify our patrons as soon as the showers in the communal locker room are repaired. The Town of Silverthorne thanks you for your patience and understanding during this extended renovation project and looks forward to offering the facility experience our community so greatly values once this project is complete.
