Silverthorne Recreation Center Closed For Improvements Sept. 5 through Sept. 24
The Silverthorne Recreation Center will be closed Sept. 5 through Sept. 24, reopening Sept. 25, as demolition begins for Phase 2 of the renovation project. The Breckenridge Recreation Center will accept Silverthorne Recreation Center members during the closure. Please note, the Breckenridge Recreation Center Aquatics Area will also be closed for renovation during the Silverthorne closure and will not be available.
Phase 2 includes:
- Complete renovation of the men's and women's locker rooms including lockers, tile, plumbing fixtures, lighting, mechanical and plumbing.
- Replacement of gymnasium wood floor (basketball courts). The gymnasium wood floor will be fully closed August through October, exact reopening date to be announced.
- Gymnastics programming has been temporarily relocated to The Outlets, see the Silverthorne Recreation Center front desk for details.
Please note that Phase 2 construction work will continue after the Sept. 5 to Sept. 24 closure with an anticipated reopening date of the men’s and women’s locker rooms in January 2024. In the meantime, all guests will be directed to use the new communal locker room. It is recommended to come dressed and prepared for your activities as lockers and changing areas will be limited.

Recreation Center Winter Hours (starting Sept. 25)
Monday - Friday
Hours: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Aquatics Hours: 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Saturday
Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Aquatics Hours: 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Sunday
Hours: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Aquatics Hours: 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Upcoming Programs
|
 Totally Nature
Get up close & personal with nature & explore animal bones, tracks, and fur. Make your own snow, & learn about birds, plants, mammals, & insects through fun & exciting activities. Dress for the weather and be prepared to get dirty! Session A takes place at North Pond Park.

 Ski & Ride Conditioning
Prepare for all your winter activities in this progressive session. Class format includes: drills, agility training, balance and power moves for an intense workout. Not recommended for the beginner skier.

 Little Skaters (4-6) & Youth Skateboarding (7-15)
Learn the basics about gear, pushing, stopping and turning techniques; how to pump, ride switch, and drop in, as well as other new tricks! Meet at the Silverthorne Skateboard Park and bring your helmet, pads, wrist guards and a quality skateboard.

 Just Swim
Come splash in the pool for an hour after school. Kids will be supervised in games and activities that include water polo, basketball, Marco Polo, and many more. Snacks are included.

Drop-in Schedules
During the facility closure of Sept. 5 through Sept. 24, fitness programming will be held at the Silverthorne Pavilion.
Please bring your own mat or towel for classes. There will not be any mats available at the Pavilion. Muscle Madness will use your body weight, bands and bender balls. No weights will be used during this time.

September Aquatics Schedule

September Gymnasium Schedule
The gymnasium (basketball courts) will be closed as new flooring is installed. Exact reopening will be announced. The Breckenridge Recreation Center will be accepting gymnasium users during this closure.

Upcoming Events
Friday, Sept. 1 at Rainbow Park Join the Town of Silverthorne for an end of summer celebration at September First Friday! Head to Rainbow Park on Friday, Sept. 1 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. for a free concert from blues musician Tab Benoit and opening act The Rumble, along with free kid's activities, local art for sale and more.

As we all eagerly await the crisper fall air that’s right around the corner we start to plan fun things to do for the perfect day in Summit County.
