The makerspace at the Art Spot is opening to the public on Tuesday, May 2! The makerspace at the Art Spot features supplies, tools and equipment available to artists of all abilities to use. The makerspace includes a ceramic studio with eight pottery wheels and a kiln, and supplies and space for woodworking, painting, drawing, jewelry making and printmaking.
Residents and visitors of all ages and abilities are able to browse through the Art Spot for free, pay a daily admission for one-time visits to the makerspace, register for a class, or become a member for expanded access.
Makerspace Hours of Operation:
- Tuesday through Saturday: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Monday: Closed
Makerspace Daily Admission:
- $12 Adults (Ages 18+)
- $7 Youth (Ages 12 to 17)
- $5 Child (Ages 4 to 11)
- $10 Senior (Ages 60+)
Ceramics Studio Information
To use the ceramics studio, participants must first complete one of the following beginner potters wheel classes:
- Drop-in classes on Tuesdays from 6 - 8:30 p.m.
- Beginner wheel series on Wednesdays from 6 - 8:30 p.m.
- Intro to the Ceramics studio class on the first Sunday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Try your hand at decorating a functional piece of pottery at The Glaze Spot: A Paint Your Own Pottery Studio. The Glaze Spot features a wide variety of ceramic shapes and forms available for customers of all ages to choose from, including cups, bowls, and platters. Animal bowls and tea sets are also available for children to pick out.

Throughout the spring and summer, the Art Spot is programmed with a variety of classes for everyone, including kids clay camps, flower arranging for teens and adults, beginner ceramics, candlemaking, painting and more. Select classes will also be taught in Spanish.

Friday, May 5 on the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center Lawn May’s First Friday will bring our community together to celebrate locals. Sponsored by Locals Liquors, First Friday will feature tastings from more than 30 breweries, wineries and distilleries, in addition to food vendors and live music. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are strongly recommended as all proceeds benefit nonprofits.
Ahead of the event, be sure to check out the Locals Liquors online auction, featuring highly coveted bourbons and whiskeys. The auction is open now through May 7 at 9 p.m. and 100% of the proceeds will go to local nonprofits.
