March First Friday Rail Jam

The Town of Silverthorne will host its sixth annual Rail Jam on Friday, March 3 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center Lawn. The Rail Jam will feature more than 100 athletes competing for cash prizes in four different categories, including men's snowboard, men's ski, women's snowboard and women's ski.

During the Rail Jam, enjoy live music from the Frisco Funk Collective, live art demonstrations from local artist Andy Moran and food from Fritangas and Colorado Marketplace and Bakery. 

Registration for Rail Jam competitors is $10 per person. Participants may register for the Rail Jam online in advance or in-person before the Rail Jam begins. Registration is $10 per person. 

Rail Jam Timeline 

  • 4 - 5 p.m.: Practice and Registration 
  • 5 - 6 p.m.: Ski Qualifiers 
  • 6 - 7 p.m.: Snowboard Qualifiers 
  • 7 - 7:45 p.m.: Ski Finals 
  • 7:45 -8:30 p.m.: Snowboard Finals

First Friday Tips

  • Walk, ride your bike, carpool or take the free Summit Stage to First Friday as parking is limited.
  • Bring your reusable First Friday cup for $1 off beer or wine.
  • Drink responsibly and designate a sober driver.
  • No outside alcohol is permitted at First Friday events.

Silverthorne Public Art Grants

The Silverthorne Art Board is pleased to announce the 2023 Public Art Grant Program. Businesses and artists can apply to receive funding for projects that provide opportunities for the extended community to come together to share common and diverse histories, traditions and customs as well as enjoy permanent, temporary and spontaneous expressions of art and culture. Applications are due Friday, March 17 at 5 p.m.
