Silverthorne News
The Silverthorne Art Board seeks artists to paint artwork on storm drains and adjacent sidewalks located in pedestrian areas downtown. The project goal is to educate the community about the importance of keeping pollutants and debris out of storm drains and promote a cleaner Blue River.
Five storm drains will be painted this year and five separate artists or artist teams will be selected to paint one storm drain each. Selected artists will paint the drains at their convenience between July 29 and August 5, with finishing touches being completed during the First Friday community event the evening of Friday, August 5.

The Town of Silverthorne has partnered with Summit County and the Summit Combined Housing Authority on a deed restricted acquisition program, Housing Helps.
Housing Helps incentivizes homeowners and real estate buyers and sellers to deed restrict their property to help maintain and sustain homes for locals. Housing Helps will pay owners, buyers, or sellers to accept a deed restriction on homes that are unrestricted. The amount paid for a deed restriction will vary depending on the market and the needs of the community. Funds received may be used for a down payment, home repairs, special assessments, or other purposes. In return, the recipient must execute a deed restriction that ensures the property is used for local housing.
Protect your home from wildfire with help from the Summit County Chipping Program. The Summit County government helps residents and property owners create defensible space by providing free chipping and disposal for branches, logs and small trees. If you clear woody vegetation from around your home and stack it in a slash pile, we’ll chip it and haul it away at no cost.
