Open to ages 12 and older, this program helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. This course includes a certification in both American Red Cross First Aid and lay-responder CPR/AED. Courses take just a few short hours, but can mean all the difference to those in need.
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, this 8-hour Mental Health First Aid course teaches you how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. You’ll learn risk factors and warning signs, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
This groundbreaking prevention program teaches adults who interact with youth the risk factors and warning signs for mental health challenges common among adolescents and young adults. Participants will learn how to reduce stigma around mental health and how to help youth in mental health crises. Mental Health First Aid is just as important as traditional CPR/First Aid courses.
