Summit County Public Health Order 

Summit County Public Health has issued a new public health order requiring masks in all indoor public spaces, effective Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021. The new public health order is in effect through January 31, 2022. 

Vaccines

With the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in our community, the best way to protect yourself and your family and friends is to get vaccinated. Vaccines are available for everyone ages 5 years old and up.

Booster doses are recommended as follows: 

  • All individuals ages 18 and older that received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, are recommended to receive a booster shot at 2 months or more after their first dose.
  • All individuals ages 18 and older that received a Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, are recommend to receive a booster shot at 6 months or more after their second dose of the vaccine.
  •  All individuals ages 16 and older that received a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, are recommend to receive a booster shot at 6 months or more after their second dose of the vaccine.

Testing

Summit County is continually working with providers to ensure that anyone in our community may easily receive a test. Testing is available free of charge at several locations in Summit County. Click here for testing locations and hours

Colorado is also distributing free rapid BinaxNOW tests directly to the homes of eligible individuals. Eligible Coloradans, including students and school staff, as well as individuals reporting to in-person work or interacting with the public for their job, can register here to receive free at home COVID-19 tests.

In late October a new-to-Silverthorne shop opened its doors on 6th Street in the former True Value space - Mountain Dirty Motorsports. Previously located outside of Breckenridge and named Motobreck, owners Lee and Mimi Dolan rebranded and relocated to Silverthorne to capitalize on the town’s growth and opportunities.

January First Friday Winter Celebration

Friday, Jan. 7
Celebrate winter in Silverthorne with sledding and ice skating! Head to Maryland Creek Park for sledding under the lights, or to North Pond Park for ice skating, on Friday, Jan. 7 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Bring your own equipment and enjoy a winter evening under the lights at one of Silverthorne's parks. 


Country Western Dance

Thursday, Jan. 13 
Enjoy an evening of guided lessons from 7-8 p.m. followed by open dancing and cash bar until 11 p.m. Admission is $10 at the door.

Burning Snowman bonfire

Christmas Tree Drop-off

Instead of throwing your real Christmas tree in the trash, drop it off at the Trent Park overflow lot to be burned as part of April's First Friday Burning Snowman event. Make sure to remove all the ornaments, ribbons, lighting, and bases from your tree. Trees are accepted from Silverthorne residents now through January 31.


Family Ice Skating

North Pond Park Now Open for Ice Skating

North Pond Park is open for ice skating for the season! Pack a picnic launch, a thermos of hot chocolate and grab your ice skates and hockey stick for a day of fun on the ice. Ice fishing is also available at North Pond Park on the south end of the pond. 

2022 Silverthorne Municipal Election 

Make a difference in our community and run for Town Council! Silverthorne's Municipal Election is coming up on April 5, 2022 and voters will elect a Mayor and four Town Council members. The Mayor and three Council candidates with the most votes will be elected to four-year terms. The Council candidate with the fourth-most votes will be elected to a two-year term. 

Silverthorne residents that are interested in running for Mayor or Town Council may pick up a nomination petition from Town Hall starting Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022. Once candidates pick up a nomination petition, they will have until Monday, Jan. 24 to circulate their nomination petition and file it with the Silverthorne Town Clerk. All candidate nomination petitions must be filed by Monday, Jan. 24 to be eligible for the municipal election in April.
