Silverthorne Recreation Center Reopening June 15

The Silverthorne Recreation Center will reopen on Monday, June 15 in conjunction with the latest public health orders from the state of Colorado and Summit County. Silverthorne Recreation Center staff have been working diligently on reopening plans for the facility that promote a safe experience for staff and guests. Below, please find more information on the reopening including hours of operation, the required reservation process, new polices and the safety measures that have been implemented to keep guests and employees healthy and safe.

The Silverthorne Recreation Center recognizes the importance it plays in the mental and physical health of our community members. We look forward to welcoming our community back in a responsible and safe manner.

Hours of Operation

The Silverthorne Recreation Center will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a midday closure from 1 to 3 p.m. The midday closure will be used to clean and disinfect the facility, replenish supplies and changeover staff. At this time the Silverthorne Recreation Center will remain closed on weekends to allow for detailed cleaning and disinfecting procedures.

Reservations Required

All members will be asked to make a reservation for their visit to the Silverthorne Recreation Center. Reservations may be made online up to five days in advance of your visit. Each reservation spot is 45 minutes and you may reserve two areas of the facility per person per day. Members may make up to six reservations per person per week. Detailed information on reservation areas and available equipment may be found below.

Policies

Admission to the Silverthorne Recreation Center will be limited to passholders and punch passholders when the facility reopens. No daily admissions will be sold at this time. Admission will only be available to members age 15 years and older. This age requirement is in place for the initial reopening based on the amenities that are available at this time.

All Silverthorne Recreation Center members must wear a face mask that covers the nose and mouth when entering and exiting the facility and whenever they are less than 6 feet of distance from others. Members may remove face masks during exercise only when a distance of 6 feet is maintained between them and other members.

Safety Measures

The Silverthorne Recreation Center is reopening with a strong emphasis on safety and responsible procedures. Personal contact is being reduced wherever possible by installing sneeze guards at the front desk and encouraging electronic transactions whenever possible. Equipment is spaced throughout the facility and modified pedestrian flow encourages physical distancing.

Certain areas in the recreation center, such as the lobby, will remain closed during the initial reopening of the facility. Restrooms will be available for members, but showers and lockers will remain closed. Due to the locker room closure, please come prepared for your workout activity in the proper clothing and ready to go.

Disinfectant spray, microfiber towels and wipes will be readily available for members to wipe down equipment and touch points before and after their use.

We will not offer towel service and water fountains are closed. However, water bottle refill stations are open, so please remember to bring your own water bottle.

Passholders

Current Silverthorne Recreation Center members who had an active pass or punch pass before our closure and are ready to use the facility may request their pass be reinstated by emailing recreation@silverthorne.org. Once requested, passes will be extended for an amount of time equal to the closure due to COVID-19 and based on the expiration date of the pass. Passholders will also be receiving an email with their online account information so they can log on, and renew their pass or make reservations to visit the facility. If you did not receive an email with your account information, please email recreation@silverthorne.org to request this information for your household.

  • I will maintain six feet of physical distance from other individuals.
  • I will wash my hands often and for at least 20 seconds.
  • I will cover my face in public.
  • I will stay home when I am sick.
  • I will get tested immediately if I have COVID-19 symptoms.
