Silverthorne Parks to Reopen

The Town of Silverthorne recognizes that access to parks, recreation and open spaces are essential to the community’s health and well being. The Town of Silverthorne has begun a phased reopening of its park amenities in response to the latest public health orders from Summit County and the state of Colorado.

Park amenities in Silverthorne will begin reopening today, Friday, May 15, 2020. Public restrooms will reopen on Monday, May 18, 2020. Playgrounds and indoor warming huts will remain closed at this time. The Town of Silverthorne is following guidelines from Summit County’s Roadmap to Recovery to determine when it is safe to reopen those amenities.

Park users are asked to adhere to the following rules when visiting Silverthorne parks:

  1. Be courteous to others
  2. Maintain 6 feet of physical distance
  3. Face coverings must be worn when 6 feet of separation cannot be maintained
  4. No gatherings of 10+ people
  5. Use parks at your own risk
  6. Recreate near your home or at less crowded parks when possible
  7. Make reservations for court use at Silverthorne.org/parks

To ensure safety and proper physical distancing, court reservations are highly recommended for pickleball, tennis, basketball and sand volleyball. Court reservations may be made online ahead of time at Silverthorne.org/parks. Pickleball may only be played at Trent Park courts and tennis may only be played at Rainbow Park courts. Basketball and sand volleyball are available at Rainbow Park.

Silverthorne’s parks provide opportunities for residents to safely engage in activities that support mental, physical and social strength. Park ambassadors will be present at Silverthorne parks beginning Monday, May 18, 2020 to help park users with questions or concerns regarding court reservations, rules and safety.
